Free Online 3D File Viewers

Pick the format you have. Each viewer parses the file locally in this tab with three.js, so nothing is uploaded and there is no size limit beyond your own memory.

Every viewer shares the same ten shading modes — textured, wireframe, normals, UV checker, X-ray and more — plus geometry statistics, so you can inspect a mesh rather than just look at it.

Nothing is uploaded

Every viewer parses the file in your browser with three.js. You can confirm it in your browser's network panel — no request carries your model.

Ten shading modes

Textured, wireframe, normals, UV checker, X-ray and more, plus real geometry statistics such as triangle count, volume and watertightness.

Fix it, then convert

Open the file in the STL editor to repair or rescale it, then convert it to whichever format you actually need.

3D viewer questions

What is an online 3D file viewer?

A page that reads a 3D file and draws it in your browser, with no software to install. These viewers parse the file locally; the file is never uploaded.

Are these viewers free?

Yes, and they need no account. There is no per-file limit beyond what your device can hold in memory.

Are my files private?

Yes. Parsing and rendering both happen in the browser tab. Nothing is sent anywhere, which you can confirm in your browser's network panel.

Which formats are supported?

STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB, glTF, FBX, DAE, 3MF and USDZ render in the browser. Blender and IGES files have no browser parser, so those pages explain the alternative instead of showing an empty viewport.

Can I view 3D files on a phone?

Yes. Every viewer is responsive and works on mobile browsers, though a large mesh is easier to inspect on a bigger screen.

What is the difference between STL and GLB?

STL stores bare triangles with no colour, material or unit. GLB stores geometry plus PBR materials, textures and units in a single file. GLB is the better choice for anything that has to look right.

Which viewer should I use?

Match the viewer to the file you have. If you are unsure, the GLB viewer falls back gracefully and the OBJ viewer reads the most formats loosely.

Why does my model look flat or black?

Usually a normal problem or a missing texture file. Switch to the wireframe or normal shading mode to see whether the geometry is there.
