Frequently Asked Questions
What is the easiest thing to print first?
Something in the beginner group with a flat base and no assembly: the tealight holder, the hexagonal planter, the cable clips or the phone stand. They print without supports and fail visibly if the scale is wrong.
Can these prompts be used with any engine?
Yes. The prompt describes the object, so it works on the local engine and on any configured third-party engine. The recommended engine is the one whose strengths match the project, not a requirement.
How do I know which engine to pick?
Geometric and functional parts: the local engine. Characters and creatures: Tripo3D. Statues, busts and lithophanes: Hitem3D. Textured props: Meshy. Realistic organic subjects: Rodin. When two seem plausible, run both in Speed mode and compare silhouettes in wireframe.
Do these models need supports?
Most beginner projects do not — they are designed around flat bases and shallow overhangs. Anything past 45 degrees of overhang will, and the advanced entries such as the articulated dragon and the cosplay helmet are usually split into parts and oriented to minimise them.
What material should I use?
PLA for decorative and indoor parts. PETG for anything that gets wet or handled — soap dishes, sponge holders, tea caddies. Resin for miniatures and statues where detail matters more than toughness.
How long does a print take?
A 90 mm planter at 0.2 mm layers is roughly two to three hours on a typical FDM machine; a 150 mm helmet in four parts is closer to twenty hours across all four. Check the estimate in your slicer before committing filament.
Can I sell what I print from these ideas?
Paid plans include a commercial licence for the models you generate, and you keep ownership. Check that any reference image you upload is yours to use, and follow the terms of whichever printer or marketplace you sell through.
Which format do I export for printing?
STL for a single part, 3MF when the print has several objects, colour, or needs units it cannot lose. Both export on every plan. Check the watertight and manifold flags in the properties panel before slicing.
What if the generated part does not fit?
Measure the original in millimetres, then adjust the dimension in the prompt and regenerate, or scale in the STL editor. For press fits, add 0.2 to 0.3 mm of clearance per side on FDM — generated geometry is dimensionally accurate, but the printer is not perfectly so.
